PROJECT OVERVIEW

Wiser is collaborating with the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government to construct 30 new homes in hitac̓u in the form of cluster homes and houseplexes that reflect Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ culture through thoughtful design and landscaping.

Wiser recently visited hitac̓u and Port Alberni to support community engagement efforts for the project. This project is closely aligned with the Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Government’s long-term vision to create meaningful housing opportunities that allow citizens to remain in or return to their home community and strengthen their connection to culture and place.

The project team is continuing to work towards achieving BC Housing funding milestones as part of the Indigenous Housing Fund (IHF) program.
