PROJECT LOCATION

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Managing the CMHC Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) and Section 95 housing applications – which consists of reviewing potential land development opportunities and providing recommendations based on CMHC RHI scoring requirements, procurement of housing manufacturer and construction manager, communications, coordinate site due diligence, draft construction and development schedule, and maintain ongoing correspondence with CHMC specialist to strengthen RHI application. Creating a housing roadmap to holistically identify and plan for the community’s housing needs over the long-term.

PROJECT UPDATE [2025]

• Successfully built and achieved occupancy for 8 new units in the form of 4 duplexes. The homes were constructed as part of a broader housing strategy aimed at addressing urgent community housing needs.

PROJECT SUCCESS

• Successfully scoring maximum RHI scoring requirements in every category
• Expedited build time – the duplexes will be designed and ready for occupancy within 6 months of funding confirmation
• Secured CMHC Section 95 loan for construction of new housing
• Secured CMHC Urban, Rural, and Northern Indigenous Housing Strategy funding for creation of housing roadmap and community engagement
• Successfully delivered the project within 15 months, contributing to the expansion of hitac̓u housing stock and helping to alleviate housing insecurity pressures within the community.
