Development and approval processes for 23-family oriented modular units in partnership with BC Housing, CMHC, Village of Cumberland, Comox Valley Regional District, and Vancouver Island Health Authority Modular project with local company, Muchalat in Cumberland BC

PROJECT SUCCESS

• Partnership between two local non-profits to collaboratively address the need for affordable family housing rental options in the Comox Valley
• Third Reading for the rezoning has been completed, Final Reading anticipated in Winter 2021
• Community support and buy-in throughout duration of project. The project has received written and verbal backing from community members through municipal processes and in-person communication
• Grant funding received for Indigenous artwork and building design features, including a wall mural carving and totem designed and carved by a member of K’ómoks First Nation
• Over $500,000 in pre-development funding secured
