PROJECT OVERVIEW

• The Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) is working to develop 6 units of transitional housing for women and 2SLGBTQIA+ people and their families fleeing gender-based violence
• The project consists of 6 units of two-bedroom, fully contained transitional units, with programming and children’s space
• Funding for the project is coming from CMHC, Indigenous Services Canada, and local sources

PROJECT SUCCESS

• Procured Metis architect to support the design of safe cultural housing and spaces for two Metis projects
• Successfully submitted funding applications in short timeline
• Awarded funding from CMHC
• Worked collaboratively with multiple partners to ensure funding application and project success
