PROJECT OVERVIEW

• Managing the CMHC Rapid Housing Initiative (RHI) and Section 95 housing applications
• The Yuułuʔiłʔatḥ Community Housing project addresses housing needs in hitacu due to population growth, aging homes, and overcrowding. This project aims to provide 30 sustainable, culturally-appropriate housing units, incorporating resilience, efficiency, and environmental stewardship, with adaptable construction methods to foster multigenerational living and community connections

PROJECT SUCCESS

• Successfully scoring maximum RHI scoring requirements in every category
• Expedited build time – duplexes were designed and ready for occupancy within 9 months of funding confirmation
• Secured CMHC Section 95 loan for construction of new family housing units
• Secured CMHC Urban, Rural, and Northern Indigenous Housing Strategy funding for creation of housing roadmap and community engagement
• Secured BC Housing Preliminary Development Funding
• Action-oriented Housing Roadmap complete – identifying a plan for the community’s housing needs over the long-term
