PROJECT OVERVIEW

• The Village Initiative (TVI) is a collaborative of non-profit organizations and service providers in the West Shore and Sooke, who are seeking opportunities to expand service provision in the region
• TVI has been engaging with its member organizations and other stakeholders for over a year to better understand the scope of the need for space, options for delivering the space, and opportunities for collaboration through partnerships, synergies, and efficiencies

PROJECT SUCCESSES

• Supporting a process for documenting current and anticipated space needs from the participants across the region
• Creating and documenting a shared, clear understanding from participants and partners of the needs, opportunities, and barriers being experienced in planning, and collaborating for accessing and securing appropriate spaces for organizational needs
• Creating decision-making criteria to support non-profit participants in making informed decisions regarding their operational space needs in the future
• Identifying partnership strategies, processes, and tools for non-profit, public and private sector participants to support more collaborative and proactive relationships going forward – ultimately resulting in the more effective use of resources and space
